Cubbington Road closure

Severn Trent works moves to Cubbington Road which will mean its closure in two parts. This will affect from the operation of the Stagecoach services 67 and 68.

The first section of the Cubbington Road closure from Monday 3 July until Wednesday 8 August 2012 between the junctions of Parklands Avenue and Epsom Road will affect the operational route of the 67 bus service. This will now be from Crown Way turn left then right into Lime Avenue, right into Leicester Lane, right into Telford Avenue, right into Montrose Avenue, left into Lime Avenue, left and right into Crown Way to return to its normal route. The return journey will be the reverse of this. The stops on Cubbington Road between Crown Way and Telford Avenue and those on Telford Avenue will be out of use during this period. Passengers are advised instead to use nearest appropriate bus stops in either Montrose Avenue, Lime Avenue or Crown Way.

The 68 bus service from Cubbington should not be affected during this first stage.

The second section is more complicated and involves the closure of Cubbington Road from Thursday 9 August until Friday 7 September 2012 between the junctions of Parklands Avenue and South View Road and will affect the operational route of the 68 bus service. This will now be from the current Cubbington loop, turn right into Kenilworth Road, left into Leicester Lane, left into Lime Avenue, left then right into Crown Way, right into Valley Road and then continue as normal towards town. The return journey will be the reverse of this.

Bus stops on Cubbington Road between the Windmill Hill / Kenilworth Road mini island and the junction with Parklands Avenue will be out of use during this period. Passengers that normally use the main bus shelter stop opposite the Rugby Tavern are advised instead to walk to the nearest bus stop on Telford Avenue to use the 67 bus service.

Bus stops on Parklands Avenue and the northern section of Valley Road between Crown Way and Parklands Avenue will also be not be served by the 68 service during the road closure. Stagecoach will be operating a shuttle bus service from the top of Parklands Avenue and Valley Road area to the town centre during this period.

Stagecoach have confirmed there will be no change to the current timetables, they will be producing a news release, carrying on-bus notices and installing at-bus stop notices informing passengers about the arrangements.

The dates may vary depending upon how fast the works progress.
